The cat is out of the bag! 30-year-old Sarah Thompson Kane who is best known for her role in Cruel Intentions 2 and the 2008 biopic Hansie in which she plays the deceased South African cricketer’s wife, is Ranbir Kapoor’s American girlfriend in Raajneeti. She was chosen for this role, after a great deal of speculation.
“We auditioned nearly 30 girls before we selected Sarah. She was right for the part. It’s a substantial role and we needed an actress who could act and would look compatible with Ranbir,” says director Prakash Jha.
The film is a love story that portrays Sarah and Ranbir falling in love in an American university. Ranbir dumps her in order to pursue dynastic political ambitions in India and Sarah relentless in her feelings for Ranbir, follows him all the way. Seemingly, the vibes between the Caucasian actress and Ranbir were so cold that the director eventually decided to drop the kissing scene between them. Well it’s not too late to change his mind now either! Let’s wait and see.
