Language: English
Genre: Fantasy/Action/Advent
Cast: Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell
Direction: Andrew Adamson
Music: Harry Gregson-Williams
Reasons to watch: Better acting than the first part, nice action and battle scenes.
Reasons not to: Many deviations from the book and not much novelty from the first part, Poor character development.
Storyline: The Penvensie children – Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy- return to Narnia, only to discover that hundreds of years have passed since they ruled there, and the evil King Miraz has taken charge. Miraz is after the life of Prince Caspian, who while hiding in Narnia, manages to call the Pevensie children back using Lucy’s magical horn. The children, with the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, Prince Caspian and the residents of Narnia, set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan’s help. The magic of Narnia unfolds yet again, with deeper mysteries unraveling, as betrayal and revenge come knocking.
Climax Handling: The climax is the most exciting part of the movie and thoroughly entertaining.
Points: The acting is definitely better this time, but the movie leaves a lot to be desired. Especially Aslan. who appears in the last 20 minutes. You might as well miss the White Witch too, who makes a blink-and-you’ll-miss-her appearance.
Rating: 8/10
Comment: The movie is tightly made and will keep you engaged for the entire 147 minutes. Watchable.
