Story: Edward(Johnny Depp) is not a man, he is an invention. His creator dies before he could give Edward hands and so Edward has scissors for hands. A kind lady, Peg(Dianne Wiest) discovers Edward, alone in his castle and brings him to her home in the city. At first, everyone welcomes Edward Scissorhands for the unique talent he has, but things take a wrong turn with Edward falling into trouble time and again. Edward eventually falls in love with Peg’s daughter, Kim(Winona Ryder) and together they face all the atrocities a jealous town has to offer. The movie ends on a beautiful note, bound to bring tears in the hardest of hearts.
Climax Handling: The end is well crafted and deeply moving, with a hauntingly melodious background score.
Points: Excellent story and execution, superb direction, deeply emotional performances in a movie that has all the elements of a classic.

Comment: Johnny Depp is at his best here, in this modern day fairytale; this movie is a piece of art, a masterpiece which brings out the dark side of human behavior and is a sad tale of gifted disability and the failure of humans in understanding it. DON’T MISS IT!
